What Is PHA in Skincare?
PHAs, or polyhydroxy acids, are gentle exfoliating acids used in skincare to help smooth texture, brighten dullness, and support a fresh, hydrated-looking glow. They are often compared to AHAs, but PHAs have a larger molecular structure, which means they work more gradually on the skin’s surface.
Because of this slower, surface-level exfoliation, PHAs are often a beautiful choice for sensitive, dry, mature, or easily irritated skin — especially if traditional exfoliating acids feel too strong.

As with any exfoliant, start slowly and use SPF during the day. If your skin is very sensitive, recently treated, or irritated, introduce PHA products gradually.
